fork can't reserve memory

Alexpux
Hi!
I have error when building GCC with fork can't reserve memory for stack... I google it and there are many links with discussing this problem but there are no solution for this. I use msys-1.0.17 under Windows 7 64-bit. Can anybody solve this?
Error message is:

First you need to upgrade to msys-1.0.18 to see if the problem still
persists with it.

To upgrade you need to:
1) exit all MSYS processes.
2) start a cmd.exe process
3) change directory to PREFIX\mingw\bin
4) mingw-get update
5) mingw-get upgrade msys-core

The error described in the topic, I get regardless of the version of
the msys-core.
Besides, as I(and not only I) already wrote earlier, msys-make
periodically hangs up if I use the '-jN' greater than 1.

OK, since no one was able to make any meaningful suggestions, here's one:
Try to put gcc source in a directory that has short path (such as
c:\g). If you can't do that, use symlinks or directory junction. If
your gcc build has some framework around it (say, a parent directory
that contains scripts, patches, source directory, build directory,
etc), then symlink that directory.
The objective here is to make paths as short as possible. This will
keep command line length within limits. Command line overflow might be
the reason why gcc build fails (but, to be honest, i do not remember
how the error message looks in that case, i.e. i can't say that it
manifests itself as a fork error).

Re: fork can't reserve memory

Alexpux
Thanks, LRN!
I make my build paths some short and now I able to build GCC.
