Msys sh stackdump during make

Andrew Cook-2
I attempting to configure libelf under msys but keep getting
Segmentation faults dumping stack trace to sh.exe.stackdump when it
tries to build the Makefile. It also seemed to produce the same problem
randomly sometimes before the Makefile building stage. And occaisonally
it hangs and I have to ctrl-C it.

I've had a look through the mailing list archives and came across
several references to this problem most of which involved the Logitech
Quick Cam service. However, I don't have the Logitech Quick Cam service
on my system.

I tried briefly switching all the processes off that I could possibly do
without and that seemed to stop, or at least lessen the frequency of,
the random element to the failures but it still always Seg faults at the
Makefile building stage.

Though I still got random segfaults when running msysinfo.

It mentions vista above but I'm running XP.

Is there anything I can do about this?
